A message to supporters travelling to Gillingham

26 April 2024

The last three months - and ten games in particular - have been incredible for all of us associated with Doncaster Rovers.

We understand fully that levels of excitement and emotion could hardly be any higher thanks to the brilliant form on the pitch that has seen us match the club record for consecutive wins.

The support you have shown the team has been excellent and that has been greatly appreciated by all at the club.

But, as we have previously stated, there are times when lines are crossed and unfortunately we saw that to a significant degree during last weekend’s win over Barrow at the Eco-Power Stadium, with several pitch incursions during the second half.

As the team head to Gillingham this weekend with another superb following, we once again ask supporters to behave in an acceptable manner at the game.

We remind you that encroachment onto the pitch is a criminal offence which will result in arrest and a possible criminal record and we promise that we will issue lengthy bans from attending Rovers matches in the future for anyone caught doing so.

The same applies in regards to the use of pyrotechnic devices, which are incredibly dangerous.

Following the events of the Barrow game, we are facing an FA inquiry that could conclude in a considerable fine and impact upon club finances heading into the summer.

We are in no doubt that the FA will not hesitate to act again if there are further instances of unacceptable behaviour by our supporters this weekend.

Do not mar what we hope will be another memorable occasion on Saturday.

The players on the pitch have done the club proud in getting to this stage - as have the vast majority of our supporters.

Please ensure that you do the same this weekend at the Priestfield Stadium.
